PHOROPTER
During this portion of the eye examination, we will use an instrument called a "Phoropter", a large lens and prism bank, to subjectively measure the power of your eyes (refraction). At the conclusion of this procedure I will know the prescription power for glasses, as well as the contact lens prescription.

SLIT LAMP
The slit-lamp is a high-powered microscope designed to give me a very close look at your cornea, iris, lens and eyelids. It is also used to evaluate contact lens fit.
